My favourite place in the whole wide world! I’m heading to France and will be away for 4 months so I decided to take some pics just incase I get homesick. And maybe because I discovered the ‘panorama’ setting on my camera. One con of living the dream is that you don’t spend much time at home, and although I am much more used to being away now, it took 2 years and a lot of tears. So wanted to share it with you guys!

Can spread out my long legs and sleep like a dead squirrel.

A week with Sally and Rosy!

I remember coming down to the one QS that South Africa had a couple years back, and watching these ¬†girls compete. Although at the time I didn’t really have an idea what their life contained, traveling, competing, victories, disappointments, I have a much better idea of it now. And what genuinely awesome people to learn from and to look up to. A week with these two in J-bay was a dream come true.

west coast wondering

As a kid, I had countless memories of road trips. Something my parents were very fond of and something that is engraved in my childhood. Whether it was chasing swells or chasing wild animals. With the coffee flask, egg&mayo sarmies and a mattress in the back, my parents would pack the van, load us (together with a wooden spoon), some boards and the dogs in and head off for the weekend. Monday morning, just after the school bell, 3 surfed out kids would stumble into their classrooms, little did their teacher know that the had to drive from J-bay that very same morning because according to dad “the swell only hit Sunday evening!” So if you take that, times it by every second week and then by 18 years, you have what we call a lifestyle. But the pity is, all I know is the East coast. I don’t have any memory of the west. So my mom, Tanika and I headed off on a road trip for good times sake, but this time to somewhere unknown.
